Trip to Greece

This past month the kids and I took a trip to Greece. It was the best time our family has had. I did have to drive 12 hours to get to Norfolk, VA. I was really nervous at fist, but once I got in the car it wasn't too bad. I even drove through my most favorite city (not really) Atlanta with no problems. We stopped every so often to take potty breaks and stretch. That kept me awake. Since I have been having a problem lately at getting tired while driving I stayed awake. I started getting tired when it started getting dark. That is when we got in to Norfolk. That place is a maze. Anyway I missed my turned and said a little prayer and ended up making a turn at this road that I knew I was supposed to be on. Well it ended up that it was the exact exit I was supposed to take. Was I watched over or what? We got to the Navel Station and boy was it huge!! Of course I did not go through the right gate, because there are so many. I had to ask where the hotel was that we were staying at, no one new. Finally someone new and told me. I followed his directions, but could not find the street to turn on. I went to another gate and asked the police officer. He told me where the street was and what building it was in. I went there and he sent me to some deserted building that had no windows, there were no cars, and the building was locked. Okay I was getting very irritated by this point. Well dumb me did not realize that the street also goes across to the other side. I crossed over and there it was. Okay this place was so long and lite up that I am not sure why this guy sent me somewhere else. Well we got there and went to sleep. The next day we had all day so I thought the kids and I could do something fun. Someone at the desk explained to me where the movie theatre on base is. Now remember this base is so huge that you have to go out of it get on the interstate and go through another gate and be back on base. Well I did exactly what she told me to do then ended up back where I began. By the third time doing this I gave up. Oh and during the maze adventure my check engine light came so I am freaking out, (trying not to too much infront of the kids). I find the auto place on base and ask them about it. They tell me to go to Advanced Auto. They tell me where to go and I get there just fine, except for passing it the first time. I go into Advanced Auto and ask them if they can test my car to see why the light came on. By this time it had gone off, but I wanted to see anyway. Well he had asked me what did I do before. I said I got gas. He said well your cap isn't on tight then. I checked it and it wasn't. You just don't know how relieved I was to hear that. After that we decided to go to Walmart get something to take to the park we passed and that is where we stayed pretty much the rest of the day. Of course the kids were getting bored of the park so we drove around the base and took some pictures, which by the way those were accidentally deleted from the memory card. This day was eventful. I knew that we were being watched over. We finally went on to the Base Airport where we waited in line. I was almost to the front when I could not find my ID, so I got out of line and went back to my car to find that I had it the whole time. We got back in line and by this time it was even longer. We did make it in on time. We checked in got on the list and waited. When they call your name it's like you've won a million dollars, because people get do excited our name did get call and we were vey excited. We got in line waited somemore and got our tickets then had to get a pass for my car and had to go back outside and put it in my car. The plane was starting to load at this point. We had to go back through security then they tried to give me problems about a water bottle and I told them they sent it through before so they just let it go. I really don't think Katrina could do much hurt with water. Now we are on the plane. It is a long flight, the kids slept pretty much the whole time. Now thses people cater to you a whole lot better than a normal commercial plane. The kids got activity books and they feed us a lot. Get this it only cost us $48, wow. Carter kept saying that this was the best day ever. We stopped in the Azores, then Napoles, and finally our final destination Greece. The kids were so excited. Carter was waving his arm so fast when he saw Brian that I thought his arm was going to fall off. We did lots of fun things and took lots of pictures, but they all got deleted by accident and had two days left so we redid everything in a two day time. Can you imagine trying to replay everything you did? Everyone was getting impatient. I felt like I was in a movie where the family is trying to do all these things really fast. It was funny, but memorable. I hated that the photos got deleted, but this will be a fond memory. At least we got some of those on video so they are totally lost. The kids just had a wonderful time and it was so sad to leave Brian. When we were leaving Katrina and Carter had made friends with some other kids so they weren't really thinking about leaving Brian. That was helpful though. Well I am just so happy we went. The best family vacation we've done!!!

I am so excited to see your blog! I love my blog although I need to update it. It's so nice to post something for all my family and freinds to see at once instead of hoping I got everyone emailed and such. Greece looks like lots of fun! Glad you guys got to go!

Our kitty Neela races me to the bedroom to get her belly rubbed. This a routine thing for her and she will softly make a noise until she gets her belly rubbed. It's quite funny.
