It's a GIRL!!!!

How exciting that we are able to find out the gender of our children before they are born!! Now I would have been happy with either a boy or a girl. Katrina wanted a girl, Carter wanted a boy and Brian admitted that he was hoping for a boy, but is happy with a girl. When the kids came home from school yesterday Katrina was all smiles and waiting for the BIG news. They were both so excited that morning. I showed them the pictures and had them read the word "girl". I felt so bad because Carter started crying, because he wanted a baby brother, not a sister. He says that girls are mean and they don't want to play with him. (Whatever he has girls chasing him all the time.) He does not realize that when this child is ready to play he will probably not be interested. Carter is wanting to play with other boys so much. Katrina always gets invited over to friends' houses and Carter doesn't. It just broke my heart to see the saddest look on his face. I almost wish I could change it just for him. Carter is stubborn at times so trying to get him to realize that he will have his own room, he will get to do lots of things with just he and daddy and that he is the BIG brother, the protector of his little sister, is not working yet. Hopefully today he will be different. It will change down the road I know, he just needs to get used to the idea. Besides who knows if everything goes well and everything looks good when they do the surgery we may decide that one more would be nice.
